Bogue Chitto State Park features two distinct campgrounds, each offering a unique experience. We stayed at the Bottomland Campground, where the sites have electric and water hookups. While the setting was peaceful, the bathrooms were quite rustic, so we made the short drive up to the Upper Campground for showers, which were much more modern. The Upper Campground offers full hookups and both campgrounds have access to laundry facilities.
The park itself is a gem, with excellent mountain biking and walking trails that wind through diverse terrain. You’ll find small streams, cypress-tupelo swamps, and the scenic Bogue Chitto River — perfect for paddling, wading, or simply soaking in the beauty of the Louisiana's landscape.

I went for a run while Dean went mountain biking.
