Sea Rim State Park is located south of Port Arthur and just west of Sabine Pass in South East Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. It is very remote and the nearest town, Port Arthur is about 20 miles away. There are 15 sites with electric and water, there are only vault toilets and no shower facilities. Primitive beach camping is allowed but these campsites cannot be reserved and are only available upon arrival at the park, they are dependent on weather and extreme high tides. The park sits in the Gulf Prairies and Marshes natural region. It consists of sandy beach with low sand dunes and extensive marshlands further inland. Mosquitoes can be a nuisance year-round, as the park is in a marshland area. Pack your bug spray! We also saw alligators, wild boar and plenty of birds.
