Shepard State Park is a small, peaceful campground located in Gautier, Mississippi, offering just 28 campsites nestled within a heavily wooded area. The dense tree cover makes the sites feel especially private and secluded — perfect for a quiet retreat in nature.
The park has a small but clean bathroom facility with two shower stalls. While there aren’t any laundry facilities on-site, the amenities are well-maintained and convenient. Surrounded by marshland, the park features a scenic boardwalk that stretches out over the wetlands, offering a great spot for birdwatching or simply taking in the view.
For outdoor activities, Shepard State Park goes above and beyond — there’s a large archery course, a full disc golf course, around 8 miles of nature trails, and even a dog park for your four-legged companions. It’s a hidden gem with a little something for everyone
